LIST: 'Our Fifty Favourite Songs Of All Time'... #40-31

As promised, we are continuing in our endeavour to list (in order of favour) our fifty favourite songs. Take a gander at the second instalment, featuring #40-31, after the jump.

40) Happy Ending - Mika

Featuring Mika's signature croon and a beautiful piano backing, the choir and strings were a welcome, complimentary addition.

39) With You - Sum 41

Best known from Gossip Girl's infamous limo scene, With Me still stands as a great song

38) Good Life - OneRepublic

One of the strongest feel-good songs to be released in recent years, Good Life took a welcome departure from the tired, electro-pop sound that was monopolising radio at the time.

37) Kiss From A Rose - Seal

This song was the best thing about the admittedly decent Batman Forever feature film.

36) Not Me Not I - Delta Goodrem

Without question, our favourite song from Ms Goodrem. With one of the most beautiful melodic lines we have heard in years, and a haunting vocal, it is saddening that this went largely ignored by the general public.

35) Apologize - OneRepublic

This song was, without question, the stand-out from Timbaland's critically acclaimed Shock Value record and one that spent 25 weeks in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100, as well as being ranked #10 on the 100 Hottest Songs of the Decade

34) Crybaby - Mariah Carey

Featuring one of the legendary diva's strongest cases of vocal layering in the final quarter of the track, this song is sadly underrated by the general public.

33) Don't Speak - No Doubt

One of the best singles released in the last ten years, Don't Speak sadly missed the #1 spot on Billboard as the rules at the time required commercial songs for charting. The fact that it was #1 on the airplay chart, however, is a testament to its greatness.

Gwen's outstanding and emotive vocal, in particular, cannot go without note.

32) It's Not Over  Daughty

The best song released yet by an American Idol alumni, Chris' strong lead vocal are part of what makes it so great. An honourable mention must also go to the other stand out track from the band's eponymous debut release, What About Now.

31) Hometown Glory - Adele

From the haunting piano solo at the beginning, to Adele's equally as stunning vocals and nostalgic lyrics, this is arguably the songstress' best song.
