Regardless of all the haters and naysayers back in the 03, we personally lurved Bad Boys II; thought it was funnier than the first, had biggger explosions (thanx, Michael Bay), and the use of 'Bad Boys, bad boys, what you gonna do? What you gonna do when they come for you...' hil-a-rious...
So, having just discovered that III is in the works, with The Hollywood Reporter stating earlier that "all parties have expressed a willingness to return if a story can be hammered out", we couldn't be happier or more ready to pre-order tickets... something we only did for The Dark Knight.
Not that we're saying that Bad Boys III will be as good as TDK, because, come on, let's be real; but that's just how long we've been waiting for a confirmation - since we first heard whispers about it back in 05.
Peter Craig - who has recently been working on a script for a Cowboy Bebop adaptation with Keanu Reeves playing Spike (yeah, we don't know who the Hell that is, either) - is working on the script, and Michael Bay has already said that he'd be more than willing to return if Martin and Will did...
It isn't the only sequel in the works for Will Smith, though. Remember Men In Black II? It was, by a clear mile, nowhere near as good as the first (sorry, Will, we love you like fat kids love cake, but it's true); so, we always thought that the team would need to rectify the situation by doing another sequel. And, apparently, so did they as Men In Black III is due out in the '11...
Thank God.
Now, all we're waiting for are details of the plotlines...
