While we all know this is a bit airbrush-happy because we've all seen Katy in a bikini and her body doesn't look quite as it does in the above, it's still a nice shot. That lost expression leaves a lot to be desired, though the lighting and setting is beautiful.
Overall, a nice enough shot. Though not memorable enough for your first ever RS cover.
On a somewhat related note, where is Rihanna's RS cover? If they're giving Katy one for the incredible success of California Gurls, shouldn't Rih have received one after the worldwide smash Umbrella? What is up with that? And DJ, why are you just letting that slide? Even the Jonas Brothers have three, and that's no shade to them, but we all know who the bigger act is.
