Arguably, Monday's offering of GG was one of the best this season, with all the things we love the most: Blair scheming, a perfectly executed Chair plan, Queen J having to make a few choices and Serenate at each other's throats (though, if rumours are to be believed, that won't be the case for very long). I think we all agree that two weeks is simply too long to go without a TVD ep, so, in order to tide you over until Thurs (which admittedly seems years away), below are two sneak peeks of it's ep, Haunted - which just seems to be getting better and better the more we hear about it:

“The school does an awesome haunted house Halloween party, where the parking lot is decorated and the whole interior hallway of the school is this cool, creepy haunted house. And all the action of the episode culminates there when you’ve got people in vampire costumes running around.
You’ve got monsters and demons and, as everything with Vicki comes to a head, as she fights off her urges to feed, we’re in this haunted house and we’re at this Halloween party, and the s— hits the fan, as they say.”

See? Still, below we have two sneak peeks; the first sees Damon and Stefan giving a newly-transformed Vicki their opposing views on the morality of feeding on humans (I think we all know where both stand on this view), while the second sees Stefan apparently struggling to save Vicki from herself...

Not that we particularly care, but that weak-arse show Melrose Place has fired wannabe actress Ashlee Simpson, and has had the nerve to lie that they always planned for her character to 'move on' after the twelfth episode. Oh, whatever. She was (reportedly) one of the best things about that show - not that that's saying much.

After the terrible decision that was made by the CW to dump TBL - which everyone knows was way better than MP and should have been given a chance (what kind of idiot decided to cancel a show after two episodes? Especially one that averaged more viewers than the Place's measly 1.5 mill) - we thought it would only be a matter of time before they ditched this show, but apparently we were wrong. For now. We all know MP has less of a chance of getting renewed than last year's bomb Privilege, but there you go.

God, we're tired of talking about this. Moving on, now...

VERDICT: Rihanna's New Single Russian Roulette




This just debuted today and is the first single off Rihanna's new album, Rated R. Do we like it? No? Is it (and the cover) TTH (trying too hard)? YES.

'RiRi' will have needed to come a hell of a lot harder than this if she wanted a hope in hell of commpeting with the big dogs who are also coming out 23.11.09 - i.e. Lady Gaga, 50, Queen B, Brit Brit. And frankly, this half-arsed attempt at a comeback single (if you can call it that) just isn't going to wash. We expected a club banger, a smash like Umbrella which would have warranted the weeks of hype Def Jam has subjected us defenceless public to. This is neither, and is weak at best; despite Ne-Yo's expected strong lyrics and a decent beat.

And we're not feeling the whole underlying suicide message either. Do they really think that during a recession and at christmas, people are gonna want to listen to what is essentially an ode to Rihanna's apparent issues? This just isn't good enough. And Rihanna most definitely is not a strong enough vocalist to carry off a slow jam as a comeback single (not that she ever really went anywhere, what with seeing her face splashed all over the internet everyday in varying outfits, and getting-stranger-by-the-day hairstyles).

End of.

VERDICT: 5.2/10

We have been waiting for this movie with our breath bated for what seems like forever, and, finally, here at least are the long-awaited character banners (Dennis Quaid, Adrianne Palicki, Paul Bettany, Lucas Black, Tyrese and Kevin Durand). Are we feeling them? Definitely; they really give a feel for what the movie is about - an angel apocalypse.

The only problem we have is with those random phrases besides the characters; are they all connected? Do we have to work out what order they go in? Oh, we don't know - we're too busy to be bothered to figure it out.

Anyway...

After all the hullabaloo that went down last week after the X Factor's producers revealed C.C would be pre-recording her 'live' performance for Sunday's results show, we were happy to see her actually do it live on stage. But that's about the best thing of the entire performance.

While she admittedly wasn't as bad as we expected, her dancing had little to no flair and she seemed a bit nervous - so Simon's comment that she was 'incredible' was more than a bit of a stretch.

Plus points? At least she sounded the same as on the record (she was singing live, you can hear her breathing at points, and in the middle she says 'let's go', or something of that nature), although that's not saying much 'cause we all know she's not the best of singers, but she was dancing at the same time - and it was a good routine, so props for that. And she did the best she could, so another plus point right there ( at least she cares, unlike some artists we could - but won't - mention - *cough* Rihanna *cough*).

But do we think she should carry on with this 'solo singing career' thing? Hell, no. Especially not after the terrible reviews Three Words has been getting.

Amelle has been admitted to a private health clinic yesterday, citing 'nervous exhaustion'. Below is the admittedly pathetic-beyond-belief excuse left on the Babes 4.0 website.

"It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion.

For the next three weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision.

Although we know this news all comes as a huge disappointment to Sugababes fans, we really do have to treat Amelle's welfare as our priority at times like this."



Translation: We didn't see the backlash after Keisha's forced departure being quite this bad, and, as Amelle is getting most of the heat and is generating bad press for the group, we have to remove her from the public eye for a while.

Honestly, just how stupid do they think we are? Nervous exhaustion? Nervous Exhaustion? That has got to be one of the best excuses we've ever heard. LiLo should have used it after that Ungaro fiasco...

According to Hype William's spokesperson, the Duchess Of Pop will star in Queen B's next video - Video Phone, which also happens to be one of our favourite tracks of the I Am... album - which was shot in the GreenPoint neighbourhood in Brooklyn. And, if 'inside sources' are to be believed it sees the two divas call-and-answering 'up tempo verses and sees Gaga adding an extra verse to the tune.' What we love even more is the claim of 'lots of choreography' and 'more dancers than the two girls (Queen B) is always with'.

OMG.

Can you imagine a collabo between these two? It's going to be insane - two of the hottest chicks in the game doing their thing in one video...

Well, the idea's good, the girls look v.good (despite some quite lacklustre dancing from Heidi but we can let that slide) and the singing's on point; but there's still something just wrong about this vid that we just can't put our fingers on.

The something wrong is the missing Keisha Factor (hereby known as KF) that we cannot ignore despite all of the above. It's just not right, and it's nothing against Jade, cause we've always loved her, but it's just wrong. Plain wrong.
