Emily, dahling, we actually have very little to complain about with this cover - well, except for that single strand of hair across your forehead which is kinda irritating. But we blame the hair stylist and not you; either go with several strands covering the face, or none at all. But don't go halfway.

Other than that, the outfit, the smouldering stare, the Tyra-esque pose - we love it all.

This is a very cute cover. Thank GOD Lindsay put some weight back on, because we must all remember what she looked like just a short year ago. We're loving the dark hair, the vampy eye makeup - the whole look.

While Eva has undoubtedly given us great covers (such as June's VERDICT OF THE MONTH ), this Allure offering is far from her best. Now that isn't to say that it's terrible - far from it, in fact. We could have just done without the squinty eyes and awkward tongue-in-teeth look.
Still, her hair and skin look as flawless as usual, and it is her first offence, so we'll be kind.

OK, let's get the good stuff out of the way first. We all know Ms Paltrow's body is honed to perfection and that is on full display here - that blue dress is to die for. We also really love the carefree pose and the natural looking smile (take notes, Cameron D).
Now, what we don't like - and, please note, that this has nothing to Gwyneth herself. Once again, a perfectly attractive person has been made odd-looking thanks to the blunders wonders of photoshop. Her forehead and eyebrows look weirdly stretched, and her cheeks botoxed to the high heavens.
Please, Vogue, we all know Gwyneth is incredibly youthful-looking - especially for a 37 year-old. You DO NOT need to change her face to this extent. You will still have great covers without photoshop.
Calm the Hell down.

Is August 2010 just the month for bad cover shots? Cameron, you usually have great VERDICTS, just what has been going on lately. The smile looks strained, the forehead botoxed to a waxy finish and the hair flatter than Cassie's backside.
The only saving grace is that fabulous dress. But that's still only enough to raise the VERDICT by very little.

Dakota, you know that we think you're an incredible actress. You know that we have been following your already illustrious career for a very long time now, and that you've made the detestable Jane one of our favourite characters in the Twilight series.
But this cover is just not going to cut it. Despite your outfit being fabulous, you look awkward as hell, your arms look tense, your mouth stiff and your hair just plain weird.
But you're still only 16. You have plenty of room to grow and time to learn from this.

You know how much we love our girl, Zoe. We couldn't be happier that she's finally part of the Hollywood A List, where she belongs. And it brings a song to our hearts that she's the new face of fashion powerhouse Calvin Klein.
In her first CK ad (very aptly for Envy), she looks as flawless and classy as usual. We love the relaxed expression, the hand-behind-neck pose (which she has carried off very well, unlike some); we just love it all.
Now two of our favourite actresses are representing CK, the fabulous Eva Mendes and now Zoe. Here's hoping that they do an ad together?

Brit, we love you and we know that you hate photoshopping, so we aren't going to blame you for this. But, really, Cosmo, just how stupid do you think we are?
While that is clearly Brit's body - check the tatoos, they're in the right places (and those are Brit's signature abs) - why paste her head on top? Why not just use a photo from the shoot, without pasting two of them together?
And whoever did it - EPIC FAIL. It couldn't look any worse than if a two year old was let loose on the Cosmo office computer.

You guys must think we've been really harsh with these VERDICTS of late, but, to be honest, prior to that we were just being too damn generous.
What is with all these magazines airbrushing celebrities to the point of not being able to be recognised? Dear, God. Cute outfit and even cuter kittens but we are not checking for that botoxed-looking grin and oddly waxy forehead. Vanessa is 21 - she doesn't need to be looking like that.
At least her hair looks great.

Rih, sweetie, you are a very pretty girl. WTF have you allowed them to do to you in this picture? They have airbrushed you almost to the point of not being recognisable. And while your hair and make up are fierce! your features are distorted beyond anything we've seen before from a cover of yours.
SMH.
Despite the fabulous outfit (we are LOVING the tri-coloured top), this is nowhere near the high standard of your last cover simply because it is creepy as hell. It looks as if you're about to come crawling out of it, screaming like that chick from The Exorcist.
And, Seventeen, we are holding you responsible for this. Our girl, Rih, always has hot covers. You are clearly to blame.

It's great to see the gorgeous Ms Jolie on a cover again, because there has been a dearth of them of late, and this is definitely one of the best covers of this month.
What can we say? She looks as flawless as usual, and we are LOVING both the fringe and the fabulous smokey-eye makeup. And not overly-airbrushed, which is always a plus.
